The jump that catches people out
Starter is $50 a month. Growth is $625. That is a twelvefold increase, and it is not optional for most teams, because three of the things people assume are core features live on the far side of it: the HTML Demo Editor, A/B testing and custom branding.
The seat count pushes you the same way. Starter includes one seat. If your product marketer and two AEs all need to edit demos, that is three seats, so $50 plus two at $40, or $130 a month. Add a fourth and fifth person and you are at $210 on Starter, and still without the HTML editor. Growth at $625 bundles five seats and the features, so the question stops being "which tier" and becomes "can we justify $625".
What a real team pays
| Team | Plan | Monthly | Annual |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 person, evaluating | Free | $0 | $0 |
| 1 person, publishing properly | Starter | $50 | $480/yr |
| 3 people, no HTML editor needed | Starter + 2 seats | $130 | $1,248/yr |
| 5 people, full feature set | Growth | $625 | $6,000/yr |
| 8 people, full feature set | Growth + 3 seats | $925 | $8,880/yr |
| Team needing SSO | Premium | $1,500 | $14,400/yr |
Is Storylane worth it?
It has the deepest feature set in the category, and the pricing reflects a product that has kept building for years: account reveal, deal intelligence, sandbox demos, an AI video avatar with metered minutes per tier. If you want the most complete interactive demo platform available and the budget is there, this is it.
What to watch is the shape of the ladder rather than any single number. Storylane prices in steps, and each step is large. Teams that grow into the product tend to hit two of them: $50 to $625 when the fifth person needs access, and $625 to $1,500 when security asks about SSO.
Budget for the tier above the one you are about to buy. With Storylane, you will probably be on it within a year.
How Peutly compares
Disclosure: we make a competing product, so treat this section as what it is. Peutly is $175 a month for Starter and $450 for Pro, with unlimited users on both and real HTML capture on both. The comparison people usually make is against Storylane Starter at $50, and it is the wrong one: Starter captures screenshots and video, and the HTML Demo Editor is on Growth at $625. Against the tier that does what we do, we are about a quarter of the price.
Where Storylane is genuinely ahead: SSO, an API, Salesforce, A/B testing, Account Reveal, sandbox demos and a much larger template library. We have none of those. HowdyGo is the other tool with the same flat-pricing, unlimited-users, HTML-capture shape, at $199 and $499 a month. The full side-by-side, including the rows where we lose, is on the comparison page.
