Scribe is a process-documentation tool: you perform a task, it writes the guide. It is very good at that, it is cheap, and it is in a different category from Peutly. The reason the two get compared is that a Scribe guide and a Peutly demo both start with a browser capture. What comes out the other end is a document in one case and a working replay of your product in the other.

The seat maths. Scribe Pro Team is $17 per seat per month, $13 annually, from five seats. Ten seats is $170 a month, just under Peutly Starter at $175. Again, the bill is not the interesting part: what you get for it is a library of written guides in one case and interactive demos in the other.
What each price buys. Peutly captures the real DOM on every plan, from $175 a month, so the demo is your actual interface and stays editable afterwards. Scribe does not offer DOM capture on any plan, Screenshot-based guides. No DOM capture on any plan.. The two prices buy different kinds of product.

Where Peutly wins
A prospect will finish a demo they can drive
Scribe produces a document. Documents are excellent for someone who has already bought and now needs to do the thing. They are a poor fit for someone deciding whether your product is worth a meeting. Peutly hands that person the product and lets them move through it themselves.
Capture leads where the interest actually is
Peutly puts a form at any step in the demo, and the analytics tell you which step the viewer reached before submitting. Scribe has no reason to do this and does not. If the goal is pipeline rather than enablement, that mechanism is the whole point.
Narration in 20 languages without re-recording
Write the script, pick one of thirteen voices and one of twenty languages, and Peutly synthesises the audio. Scribe lists language translations on Enterprise for the written guide; there is no narration layer.
Flat pricing, unlimited users
Scribe Pro Team is $17 per seat from five seats. Peutly is $175 or $450 for the workspace. Past ten people the flat plan wins, and past twenty it is not close.

Scribe Basic is free with unlimited seats. Pro Team is $13 per seat annually. If what you need is a searchable library of internal how-to guides, Scribe does that better than we ever will, for a fraction of the price.
The guide writes itself
Scribe generates the written steps from what you did, automatically. Peutly captures the flow, but any narration script is something you write. For teams producing dozens of process documents a week, that difference compounds.
Desktop and mobile capture
Scribe captures desktop and mobile from Pro Personal. Peutly is a Chrome extension and captures browser flows only.
Enterprise compliance features we do not have
SAML SSO, automatic redaction of PII and PHI, multiple workspaces and an enterprise search API are all on Scribe Enterprise. If you work in healthcare or finance and auto-redaction is a requirement, that is a genuine reason to pick them and it is not close.
Choose Scribe if you are documenting processes, especially at volume or under a compliance requirement. Choose Peutly if the artefact needs to convince someone who has not bought yet. These are different jobs, and running both is a perfectly sensible outcome.
